Once renovated, the Upton Campus will serve as the Upper School for students in grades 9-12. It also will house the all-school community Center for Ethical Leadership and Center for Teaching and Learning. This renovated building is the vital first step toward the unification of our campus across all three divisions. It will add much-needed capacity in science, robotics, scholarship, and research and will lay the groundwork for a carbon-neutral campus.
The Sidwell Friends endowment provides critical funding to support student financial aid, faculty compensation and professional development, and special programs. And it reduces our dependence on tuition. There are more than 150 named endowed funds including three new fully funded endowed faculty chairs in Spanish and Latin American Studies, African and African American Studies, and Asian American Studies.
In 2022, we are pleased to announce the launch of The Sidwell Friends Fund, the successor to the annual fund. Every dollar you give to The Sidwell Friends Fund will be used to support the School’s highest priorities which include: supporting students through financial aid, providing faculty with development opportunities, and creating engaging experiences for our students.
During the campaign, all gifts to The Sidwell Friends Fund will count toward the campaign goal.
Multi-year pledges enable us to reach our goal faster. Commitments made in writing can be paid over a five-year period. The chart below is offered as a guide.
