We have always hoped that one day we could reunite all of our students, faculty, and staff on one campus, where our community can come together as one and our values can shine most brightly.
The first step in that transformation is already underway. Thanks to the generous support of our community—alumni, current and former parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends around the world—our new Upper School will open in September 2026.
Now, it’s our opportunity to complete this vision. In 2028 we plan to open a new Lower School and large open greenspace at the center of campus that will reunite our School on the Washington DC campus for the first time in more than 60 years. Together, these spaces will enable students, faculty, and staff to build community, find ways to collaborate across divisions, and expand access to our most valued resources and spaces.
The culminating phase of Sidwell Friends’ Together We Shine campaign will not only reunify the campus for the first time in more than 60 years, it will transform the Harrison Building into an inspiring, light-filled Lower School.
